  2. Hi Dennis, I'm just starting to try and get active again. Spent over the past year + in and out of the hospital, became diabetic and lost most of the feeling in my hands and fingers but that is improving and I hope to start back on my Niagara soon. yea, I'll take a couple of new pictures tomorrow and try to post them, it turned out better than when I originally bought it in 67. Chrysler didn't put a lot into paints back then as they were really only interested in getting the hemi into production cars for NASCAR as Ford was really giving them a hard time about the hemi not being for production cars. I've got 4 coats of paint, plus 6 coats of clearcoat, wet sanded in between on her, I put 2-4 barrels and a good cam in the engine, and I restored the original 4 bbl and manifold which I carry with me to shows. I didn't get the hemi back then since I lived in far south Texas and I needed a/c since it is so hot so I got the 440 instead since it could come with the a/c. Thanks for the invite and hopefully I'll get a couple of pictures posted tomorrow. Good to visit with you - take care buddy, John
  3. Hi Dennis, this is nice model. I have a real one, it has been completely redone back to better than when it was new. It is a 440 Yellow/black version of the GTX. This car was mine brand new from Dec 1966. I sold it in 69 but miraculously found it unmolested in 1994. It needed a complete restoration, but I didn't care since it was my original car. I have completely done a complete Concourse restoration to it and it is now better than when I bought it new. I can provide any pictures you might could use on building yours, however it is not the race car version of the Sox & Martin. Let me know if any of these could help. Keep up the good work. John Willis, Tx
  4. Hello Ron, I'm just now getting caught up with your log. It's good to see another Niagara being built. Looks really good. Thanks for the acknowledgement about my build log. I hope I will be able to finish my Niagara. I have been ill over the last year and recently diagnosed as insulin dependent diabetic. I've lost most of the feeling and dexterity in my hands and fingers which makes it very difficult to even think about ship modeling. They still don't have my blood sugar regulated - not sure how long it will take, but it's getting old. So, needless to say I am enjoying your build log and will try to continue following you. Take care, and keep up the good work, John Fleming
  5. Nice start and good photos which mean a lot for this Forum. This is a fun build especially since it's a real ship that we can go aboard and photograph. I've been on board 4 times in the last 6 years. Enjoy, John (texxn5)

  7. Thanks Michael, greatly appreciated - things are slowly progressing with her health. Prayers are always welcome. John
  8. Hello, welcome to the Niagara Club. This is a fun build and you will enjoy the intricacies of this ship. Should you need some references on building this model you might wish to check my website Build Log at: http://www.niagaramodel.com should you have questions please feel free to contact me. Good luck and have fun. John
  9. Thanks Scott for providing the info. The link is also active with my signature. All one needs to do is click on it below. John
  10. Hello Piet, I am glad to hear that you and Gwen are safe. We were headed out your way in May and got as far as Perry, Fl going to meet Diane's 2 boys in Melbourne. We were going to try to meet with ya'll after meeting the boys, but Diane had a stroke and we immediately came back home. She then had 2 more strokes and spent 3 weeks in the Hospital and rehab. We came home and she had another one. It's now been a month since the last one so hopefully there won't be any more. It seems now that dementia is moving in, so chances are we will not be RVing anymore. I'm not sure how her recovery is going to be yet but so far it is slow. We had 23" of rain and the lake flooded by 5'6" the highest it's ever been. It got within 2' of getting in the house. My garage flooded and my Ferrari got water in the trunk, interior and engine so it is totaled. Still waiting for Insurance Co. to contact me. 2017 has not been a very good year. Be safe my friend, and I hope you weather this storm safely. tell Gwen hello and our prayers go out to you. These storms are something else! Take care, John & Diane
  11. Looks great Ken, I'm definitely in and have pulled up a chair, bringing popcorn and cold beer. Hope your new saw comes in handy with this - it should. John
  12. To all who have been keeping up with this thread, thank you and all the prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated. I personally believe in the power of prayer and with that being said, when I got to the hospital this morning, she told me she was ready to go home and after checking her out and talking to her nurses and Dr's they agreed and I just brought her home about 30 minutes ago. She is actually better than she was prior to this last event on Sunday - so time will tell but I think she is well on the way to a great recovery. She went from complete paralysis on her right side (leg and arm) to almost walking without the walker. Thank you all again - you guys are the greatest, John
  13. Thanks to all who have offered prayers and well wishes for my Admiral Diane. There is improvement today and I hope and pray that it continues. You guys are great and if I missed acknowledging anyone, please forgive me. Getting old sucks as many of us know, however, it is better than the alternative, not to make light of it. I'll try to post updates when I can. Thanks my friends, John
  14. Well, this turned out to be a bad idea. The saw had 658 looks, 42 watchers, 4 bidders at the last minute and sold for $125 and ebay will take 13%. I had over $350 in it, but no one was interested so I lost my a__. Oh well, that's the way things are going these days. My Admiral Diane, had another stroke last night and is back in the hospital. Anyone with any extra prayers would be appreciated. Thanks guys, John
  15. Hello Larry, hope all is well with you. We haven't been in touch in quite a while. I am working on my Niagara Carronades and like how you did the threaded elevation jackscrew vs the quoin. What size thread did you use and where did you find it. I can't find anything smaller than 2mm. Time is short for me right now so I'll catch up with you a little later. My Admiral has had a few strokes over the past 6 weeks so I've been busy taking care of her, however, I'm trying to work on my Niagara in between to keep from going crazy. Thanks for any help, John
  16. Thanks for showing some interest folks, the new ebay number for this is 232411833080. Just copy and paste or type in the number on the search box and it should show up. It also should show if you just do a search for Dremel Table Saw. The auction will end on Sunday around 4:00 PM. Current bid is $26 I certainly hope it brings more than this. There currently are 406 views and 41 people following it so I guess we'll see. Sorry I haven't been on the forum much, but my Admiral has had 4-5 strokes over the last 6 weeks and I'm spending most of my time taking care of her. I have been trying to start downsizing and converting un used items to cash to help cover a lot of unexpected expenses. Thanks for looking, John
  17. Well, since there has been no interest from the Forum, I'm going to go ahead and relist this with eBay. I am waiting until 3:00 PM Pacific time to enter the listing, should there be an interest please PM me before the listing time and I then will not list it. After it's listed I'll repost the listing number here. Thanks to all that looked. John
  18. Hello Ben, welcome to the Niagara club. I'll be following your progress. I've recently completed the Charles W Morgan and started the Niagara back in February. I have a pretty comprehensive archive of photos of the real Niagara in Erie, Pa. on my website and have progressed to the stage of starting to build the guns. You might wish to visit my website should you run into questions. I have not started a Build Log here as it would be redundant to my site. This is a fun project with lots of possibilities. Check it out if you wish at http://www.niagaramodel.com Have fun, John
  19. Sorry for any inconvenience, I had to end my listing on ebay early because I had an error in the description saying I would cover the shipping which was $38.75, when I meant the buyer would pay to ship. Therefore, I'm not going to relist on ebay, but anyone interested, my asking price is $285.00 + shipping. I take all credit cards and paypal for anyone interested in buying it. I can send an invoice and you can pay from it. John
  20. Hi guys, I find it necessary to sell off a few things I have. This item is also listed on eBay (item # 232404736558) if any one has an interest. The ebay auction will end Monday afternoon. Please go to ebay to check it out. "I have refurbished this saw and it has made 2 cuts since then. New blades, motor, belt, extra belt, wrenches, Allen wrenches, wood sled, Miter and Rip Fence w/Bell Variable Adjusting Angle Rip Fence, all Original Manual & Parts List. This is everything you need to make anything miniature that you would need a Table Saw for. Everything you see is new (used to make 2 cuts) and what you will get. The only reason that I am selling this saw is because I need a bigger one and this is not being used. It runs like a top and with the Proxxon 36 tooth Carbide Blade will cut anything to perfection no matter how hard or small it is. These saws are becoming really hard to come by and are highly sought by model builders who demand precision and bring premium prices when one of this quality and condition come on the market. There is over $150.00 of extra accessories that are aftermarket items made for this saw. I have not seen a Bell variable rip fence in over 10 years for sale. The blade wrenches also include the star and hex wrenches for some of the other screws used in the saw's construction. There is an extra new belt and the belt on the saw is new. Bid with confidence that this is the best Dremel Saw on the market with the most accessories you will find in one place. There will be no disappointments with this baby and you can use it for years before it would need anything but dusting off. Being sold as is, with no warranties. Buyer will pay shipping as this is a bulky relatively heavy item. This is a no reserve auction with a low starting bid of only $0.99. So far the bids are very low, so I hope it goes for more. 21. Hi Bruce. MAGNIFICENT. I've not forgotten about you, Diane has had a number of strokes over the last few months and I've been dealing with that, she is currently in the hospital. It is such a rewarding experience finishing this model. Congratulations on one of the few Morgan's ever finished. Bask in the glory my friend, it is well deserved. I still marvel over mine in the fact that I actually built it and was able to bring the whole thing to fruition. The boats actually turned out to be one of most fun parts of the build for me and as with you it started after the initial hulls were made. I couldn't hardly stop myself with the details. Well done and keep in touch. MAGNIFICENT is my best way to describe her. I'm currently building the Niagara as it is another ship that I have been aboard a few times. Enjoy your next build and let us know what it will be. Take care my friend, and may your next one be as great as this one. John
  22. Hi Larry, she's looking great, good to see you back at it. Mine's going to slow down at this point, we're leaving in a day or two on our annual RV trip. Going east again to Florida then up to Maine. I'm taking the model with me and going to work on small stuff, carrondades and such. I'll be watching how you're doing along the way. John
  23. Hi Bruce, great looking little boat. Aren't they fun....lol. Each is a little project. I built mine when we were in Connecticut at an RV park. Sat outside on a picnic bench - gave me something to do that needed to be done and boy was I glad I did it. It was easy for me to keep motivated when it came to finish time. You have a very nice Morgan congrats my friend. I am currently working on the Niagara which I told myself I was not going to build anymore ship models since I don't have any more room. I have a website on it if there is any interest, just click link below. Happy Easter, and you're almost done. John http://www.niagaramodel.com
  24. Hello Larry, good to hear you're still here. I've started my Niagara a couple of weeks ago and have a website for it, so I'm sure I'll be in touch for questions. I just finished the Stern Bulkhead Q going from there. Sorry to hear about everyone's health issues...we've got our own going on here.....welcome back John http://www.niagaramodel.com
