  1. Good drive on a sunny day and then you can go to Captain Hirams in Sebastian for lunch! Scallops in garlic butter are worth the trip alone.
  2. There is a hobby shop in Palm Bay, Florida, north of Vero Beach which has tons of great stuff for builders. I bought some old model boat builders magazines there which had a lot of good info. Good luck.
  3. Welcome from Sarnia Ontario. Great thing about being retired....can spend hours at the work bench and not feel guilty.
  4. Spent four winters in Fort Pierce. Did lots of model work in the Florida room in our double wide!
  5. my ship isn't real pretty but I did prove to myself I could do it. I too look with envy at the well done models but I am content with my limitations. Great way to spend winters in retirement
  6. Hi, I'm Phil from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. New to this site. After three winters, I have finished my first scratch model, HMS Bellona. It has a lot of faults but considering I had no idea what I was doing, I am pretty happy with it. Looking forward to another build, possibly the Andrea Gail.
