  1. I glued my templates to cardboard and cut them out. Next to glue up my basswood planks to make up the hull.
  2. Thanks, I printed out enough copies to make my template, so if I need more I'll probably just print them. I wouldn't have thought about a photocopier changing scale though.
  3. Hi! I'm just getting into the world of model shipbuilding and decided to try my hand at a waterline solid hull yacht before I dive too deep. This hull design spoke to me for some reason. I've got several basswood pieces that I'm going to laminate for the hull and then start carving. One question I have, should i just print out several copies of the hull plan to make templates from? Or should i try to redraw the curves in solidworks first?
  4. Thanks everyone! I'm enjoying the build logs
  5. Hi, I'm just discovering model ship building. I was listening to the Aubrey-Maturin series for my second time, and looking up cat-harpings to see what they were, and I came across the world of model shipbuilding. Intrigued, I read through the practicums for one of the Model Shipways models, and here I am joining the forum! I don't know exactly what I'm going to tackle for my first one, I've got a baby due in three weeks so I might not have enough time just now. Looking forward to lurking around here and getting advice so that when I do start, I can hit the ground running.
