I am an artist and I am asking if anyone is happy to take some photos of Occre Endeavour model ship (or any good quality models of this ship type). This is for use as references when painting. In return for your trouble, I will post to you a high quality Giglee print of it. See attached a painting I did of HMS Endeavour exploring new worlds (symbolic painting). Please email me privately Richard(at)bizleyart.com I should mention that I was going to buy Occre Endeavour model ship, but thankfully I studied what is involved and I think it is beyond me. I had no idea just how complex it is to build it and it only makes me realise just how talented some of you are. That said, I do hope to build a model ship and this "Model Ship World" is a great find, to give me courage. Thank you

Hi everyone, I discovered this Forum while Googling. I am an artist and in the past I was a model-maker (mostly aviation etc). I enjoy the odd model-making when I have time these days. I just had a look at the gallery, some of your models are truly amazing.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
