    It's a plastic model. Added it to the main post for clarification. I did get some copper tape to try do something similar but at a 1:180 scale I found it too finicky. I have a 1:96 constitution which I'll probably try it out on when I get started on it Thanks

    Thanks. I had a look at alclad but wasn't sure about all the prep involved. At the moment the hull is painted with Tamiya Copper paint, but I'm not very happy with it, I also doubt that it's sufficient for alclad to go over (?). Also I think I'd prefer brushing over airbrushing because I've come quite far with the model before this decision, and don't want to ruin what I've done.

    Anyone able to give advice for the best paint for painting the copper sheathing on my Airfix HMS Victory? It's already got a coat of Tamiya paint but I'm not too happy with the colour. Thanks
