Now that the basic structure is complete, glued and true, It is time to add the bulkheads. I have these old plastic clamps that are a pain to use for clamping and discovered that if I remove the bottom part, that it is an exact 90 degree angle. Perfect for setting the bulkheads. So, I took them apart and started adding bulkheads 4 at a time at first because that's how many clamps I had. I am using Titebond II glue and it sets up pretty well in 20 to 30 minutes. I have discovered over time that I can remove the clamps on most things in that time. So, I simply added 2 or 3 bulkheads every 30 minutes or so last night and finished the final 3 this morning.

Ok, Here are some more progress pictures. I am following the excellent instructions from Chapter one of the build.

Here are a few pictures of what came in the mail. That is my king size bed. This thing is huge which will be great for my arthritic hands:) What an excellent kit. The laser cuts on this thing are very precise. They are thin and the parts aren't too badly burned either. What you don't see here are Mr. P's instructions that are three chapters so far and are just excellent. I believe this adventure is going to make me a much better ship builder.

Hello folk. I got interested in this beautiful ship while watching many of your build logs. Last week I piped up and asked Mr. P. if I could join and he welcomed me graciously. So, I hear the doorbell a few moments ago and discovered the parts that I ordered from his company Siren, are already here. Even though I am just finishing the outer hull for my Model Shipways Constitution, I can't wait to start this one. So, I am going to work on both. I will try to talk myself into starting a build log for the connie, but, it is just not up to my standards. Next I will post pictures of the kit parts I received from Siren.

Hey, great kit. I built 3 of these in the early 70's. I built one for my chief while in the Coast Guard from 1971 - 1974. These things are getting pretty old by now so I imagine that there are quite a few brittle parts and don't even think about getting decals that old to work. That being said, she builds into a beautiful model. Good luck and I will be watching the build.

Greeting fellow modelers. I am getting back into a hobby that I have not had the time or energy to work with for the last many years. I was a member here sometime in the 2000's. Then the crap hit the fan in my family and over the next 10 years we lost 3 of the most important members of our family to cancer. I have discovered that I can still lose myself in modelbuilding and thank God for it. I am finishing up a MS Constitution kit that I started in 1992 and have drug it around with me ever since. Believe it or not, I still have all the parts, tools etc... Im 65 now and am pretty sure I have been building models of all sorts since I was 5. Its something that I just loved. Sometime in the early 90's I got into IPMS society and actually won 3rd place in one of the contest for my 1/32 F5. I got so serious about everything having to be perfect, that it just took the fun right out of it. For me, getting a model and building it over night was just simply awesome. Well, ive learned a bit since then. For instance, ive learned that you don't get nearly as many fingerprints on your kit if you actually wait for the paint to dry....LOL Anyhow, I just received the kits for the Winchelsea from Chuck P. I ordered it at the beginning of the week and its on my build table right now. Thanks so much to Mr. P. Also the parts are nearly perfect. His laser table really does a beautiful crisp job. I will start a build log and post the pics of the parts I received in a few moments. I want to just take a line here to say thanks to all the rest of you for posting and participating. I cant tell you how many times over the years that I have just lurked on this site and watched the beautiful kits that you here have been building. That being said, I have a hard time taking pictures of the build while I am building it. It kind of interrupts the flow for me for some reason. Probably the fact that my head is so full of loss and pain that I just cant sit still long enough.

Hey Shawn, I envy your build jig. Is that y our design or can I buy one somewhere?

Shawn, It is looking great. I am just getting ready to start this project myself. I hope mine will turn out just as well.

This thing is really looking great. I have it on the shelf waiting behind my constitution. I am currently doing the stern decoration and it is just tedious and difficult. As a result, I find myself not sitting down at the workbench as often as i would like. I know I just have to push through it and I will cause I cant wait to start my confederacy. LOL. I just have to ask, What is up with those crazy round wooden clamps? Did you make them? Thanks, Frank B.
