  2. Welcome fellow Navy DD214-er! I’m glad you found the forum here and looking forward to seeing the progress on your build.
  3. Those upper head rails look great. It is very difficult to carve in live with the grain like that. You did an excellent job!
  4. Looks great Bob. I think the tamiya paste would also be good. i also have several rockets in my basement that I may use to test paint finishes on. 😉 Seems to have worked well for you!
  5. Yes indeed, that looks great! And think about all the learnin’ you got on this. 😀

  7. Hi Bob, do you think you’ve identified the cause of the orange peel finish first time around? Just need more practice with the airbrush? Good luck! I’m certain you will get this done to your liking.
  8. I tried to warn you! 😀 I’m sure you will pull this through exactly how you want it. And I have no doubt it will be a picture of perfection.

  11. Can someone tell me what this type of blade is used for?
  12. Well done! This is a great kit. You are really doing a great job. You are proving that good model building is 90% attitude, 20% tools and 10% math skills.
  13. Lol, my coworker is from Elwood and we have fun with that! We’re on the north side not far from Fishers. Although, we are Purdue fans 😀 But we’ll root for Butler too.
  14. I think it looks great and any attempts to make it better are likely to result in something else you want/need to fix. It really does look fantastic. Maybe sit on it for a day or two and decide how you Really feel about it.
  15. Looks like you've got a good start on this. I'll follow along on your project. I think this is a great ship and I'm looking forward to seeing it completed. Good luck on the tool wish list but be careful, it is a slippery slope once you start down that path. I'm speaking from experience of course! Barry
