    Yes I aware of that film and watched it again the other day .Good film and a shame no one does films like that anymore

    Will try some dry brushing to make them pop more tomorrow.

    Working on the torpedo tubes using lifecloor wash.Not sure if I like it but gives a bit of depth.Also hull painted ready for decking

    Ok here we go progress so far.I undercoat with black then progress on to grey .I use Vallejo air as that’s the most consistent paint to airbrush with and I can normally get these locally.

    Gday all Mark here from South Australia .Ive been painting 28 mm figures for about 10 years and recently have decided to start building Ships.Currently building the Bismarck 1/350 Tamiya and Trumpeter 1/350 Admiral Graf Spee. Cheers Mark

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
