Yep, I’m still alive, gained interest again, she was on the shelf all this time. Last photo is from today, I will let it dry for more sanding afterwards. It’s like the surface of the moon, not perfect. With my measurements, i can say that the second layer will fit pretty nicely.

Before posting new updates from the model, today I visited the Götheborg in Lisbon. I LOVED very much, beautiful!!! Took a lot of photos to catch the detail 😄

Had to paint the cannons with black color. The result is good. I will start to plank the hull now.

Current state of The model. Like I said, the planking is not so good because I didn’t follow crucial steps. Tapering only on the bow, in the next one it will be different 👍🏻👍🏻

@Baker Currently at the moment, I’m watching some tutorials on YouTube on how to plank properly. (The information I’ve found here on this forum was not so easy for me to understand). It’s time to improve something. It was not difficult to glue the plank on the bow. Thanks anyways 🙏🏻 Let’s continue.

@Baker amazing information on the website, i must check it with a closer look. Used metal burnishing from AK Interactive for this and the result is this:

This is the idea, I will wait to start planking and then I can place the cannons. I have 4 small cannons that I’m not going to use and will test the burnishing liquid in one of them to verify the result. If I don’t like it, matte black and diluted gun metal will be the solution..

Thanks Allan 👍🏻👍🏻 Regarding the cannons, I got them after starting the model. If they match the time period? maybe not, I’m no expert in this area and just wanted something more real than the ones that comes with the kit 😅 The website didn’t have much more options for the cannons. And yes, the Diana is a beautiful model! Best Regards, Daniel 😄

Good evening, the project slowed down just a bit. It’s Christmas time, more time dedicated to the family and to the job. Things get busier 😅 Besides that, i’ve started learning how to play classic guitar. I don’t think one life time is enough to do everything we want 🧐 Happy holidays to everyone, be very careful with the newest COVID variant. Let’s see what is waiting for us in 2022 🤞🏻
