  1. Wow, Josh. Looks great. I am with you on the cannonade positioning, btw.... Congrats and look forward to following your next build.
  2. Well that was fast and it turned out very well. The detail on the rigging always impresses me. Nice how you used your interest and knowledge in Slocum and his journeys to inform and motivate your progress. Now I have to make up my mind on if and what on a build of my own! Congratulations, Josh, and happy holidays and a great new year.
  3. Josh - Nice detail work. Is the blacking solution you used primarily for modeling, or a more general use product? Great job, so far.
  4. Taking shape! A lot of progress. Interesting in how the two sides of the deck took the stain differently. Did you try a little surface sanding on each, or is it really just a different piece of wood? Port looks cleaner, but starboard doesn't look bad, as it implies a working deck. Maybe just getting them looking more alike - which might mean looking a little more "used" on the port would be the best way to go. Just thinking out loud. Thanks for the on the go commentary on why and where to follow the instructions.
  5. I am watching with interest, as I am making up my mind as to when and with what I start with. Will be fun to see how the natural finish ends up.
  6. Nice work and thanks for the detailed write up. I will be following all the way through. Will be great to see the Spray coming back to life once again.
