    Hello all! Hoping to get some gift ideas for my father who just bought the Caldercraft HMS Vicotry 72:1 model kit. He did a model earlier this year but the Victory is much, much, larger. I’m hoping to get him something to help him with this. I know he has a dremel already and probably most of the basic tools. Would there be anything that’s a must-have for something like this? There’s some tool kits on Amazon but I worry about their quality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
