  1. The kit of the Niagara has arrived and my hat off to whom ever has built it. There is a bunch of parts. The kit from Model Shipways is really nice. The instruction are far better than what came with the Harvey. Tom Huntington WV USA
  2. I'm building the Harvey, I'm ready to sheet the deck. I have a Constellation waiting, and a MS kit due tomorrow. All to get the skill to build the USS Constitution by MS. tom
  3. I'm also building the Harvey. I have a couple hours work and the first layer of planking will be finished. I'm glad, I found this post, it has shown me a lot. Is this kit still made?? tlnibert Huntington WV
  4. I'm working on a model, several years now. Your post help me a lot, now I don't feel as stupid. I'm building the Swift and I just finished the first layer of planking. I guess, I'll have to build several ships to get the skill to build the Latina Constellation I have waiting in line. Tom Huntington WV

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
