    Hi Jerry, I have very much enjoyed following this post and your progress to assemble this boat. My name is Christian, as a new retiree i thought this hobby would be perfect for me and recently bought this very same model but after opening the box i felt a bit intimidated since i have about zero experience with wooden models. I was wondering if there is any list of recommended tools and items such as paints and so on to be able to assemble this model properly that exist on the web or any other place? This would help tremendously instead of going back and forth to the store every 10 minutes Many thanks Christian

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
