    I have the OCCRE Beagle kit and not sure what glue to get. I have seen vids of people using Bison PVAC glue (never heard of it before). Is this better than the 'normal' PVA glue? Thanks Brian

    Thanks a lot, never would have thought of lego blocks. Do you think a one inch or two inch square would be OK? Can only really afford one before my Mrs starts getting irritated LOL. Cheers Brian

    Just bought the OcCre HMS Beagle. I was wondering if it is worth buying a small stainless steel square to ensure the frames etc are square. I know I could make a wooden one but a metal one would be more accurate. I will probably need some help as I go along as the last ship I attempted (I think is was the USS Constitution, the one in Boston Harbour I believe) was a disaster when I got to the planking so gave it away. feel more confident now though. Kit was purchased from Hobbies in the UK. Thanks Brian

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
