  1. Hi Dave, You can get brass sheet, tube and rod from themodelcentre.com. They are in North Yorkshire. Regards Tony Brooks
  2. Hi Gregory, thanks for your help. I have only marked the butt joints between two planks. At scale, 16' planks would have no butts on the fo'c'sle. I agree I should mark the end nails and I will test a sample of pencilling over the (already applied) matt poly)
  3. Hi guys and ladies, Opinions please on deck planking 1:54 HMB Endeavour. If I follow Occre's instructions and mark up the planking for butts AND treenailing plank to frame, it looks awfully busy. I have decided to model the butts only, with a four-strake stagger. After pencilling, weathering and spraying a matt poly it looks like this. This is, after all, my model and my interpretation of the kit.
  4. Hello Jon, greetings from Sydney Australia. Whilst I wait for my kit to arrive (Occre) I am planning and researching HMB "Endeavour". This ship is as important to Australian history as the Connie is to USA's. I have only just caught up with your build log, and devoured it over the past few days. I wanted to tell you how much I envy your skills and determination, especially on the subject of fine detail which may not be seen or even visible. The builder knows it is there. Also I empathise as a mature-age builder. I am 74 with much the same ailments as in spinal fusions and cataract repair. My spinal problems resulted in reduced mobility, tremors and a lack of fine motor control, so I too will battle with ultra-fine parts and detail, but your helpful and entertaining log will inspire me even if it is a different subject. Many thanks for your contribution to this fine hobby, and all power to your hand. Regards, Tony Brooks
