  1. Same here, I also am just tuning in to your build. I have spent a day with jaw dropping awe to this amazing masterpiece. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, looking forward to this being done!
  2. I recently purchased wood over the holiday, very fast response and deliver time. Highly recommended!
  3. Here is a link to the instructions and parts list if you have not found the yet, happy building lol. https://artesanialatina.net/en/ships-intermediate/62095-renewed-king-mississippi-ii-steamboat-wooden-model-ship-kit-1-80-8437021128055.html#attachments
  4. I just bought this kit also, you have to download the pdf files. It gives part numbers also pictures for directions. Yes I think that it was a poor decision on their part to do this. If you have any troubles message me I will help the best I can. Im a little further and have the planking on the hull done, have to move to the transom and sides.
  5. Here is a base I made for Benjamin Latham that I am currently working on. I chose a simple edge , its made from oak and tung oil for a finish.
  6. Congrats, I am currently working on it and it is seriously challenging. Looks good I hope to have the same results.
  7. BenD that link you sent for that company, that's a tough one to beat. The more I look into all this it seems risky. The price of some wood alone is the whole price of the cases there. I think Im going to let this idea float on down the river.
  8. Very nice work on the display cases shown! I do agree on not undercutting prices cause it does make the market cheap. Shipping does seem to be a problem. Also thank you to everyone that has given advice to products for builds. I'm new to this site but this is what makes it seem so great, is everyone gets together on advice and knowledge.
  9. I'm not sure if my response to your post is the correct way, I'm new to forums. That being said, Thank you for your feedback Allan!🙂 I have looked at some modeling companies that offer cases for upwards of 500$ then you have to sand, stain, buy your own glass, and assemble. I don't want to get really big, more of a side gig. Was thinking stain and customer picks trim, ship disassembled, with plexi glass instead of glass, same for bases pick your trim pattern stain color. I'm not looking to go back and forth on if it's a good idea or not, it seems that if i did create some kind of gig, people would be interested ,but don't expect to get rich is what I'm feeling from this. Now that I think about what has been said, there probably is a reason there are not a lot of them floating around these forums. Maybe just a daydream gone afloat, the more and more I think about what was said, it does sound like a logistical nightmare...Anyway thanks for all that have read this and responded.
  10. I am not selling anything, more seeing if there is a need from other builders for a custom stand or case. If there were enough people interested maybe something can be done for folks. If this is in the wrong spot on the forum I apologize , I am new to all this.
  11. Has anyone wanted so much perfection that you get in a situation where you should have left well enough alone lol...

  12. Thank you! That's close enough to this side of the pond. Courious is there any ship clubs or even model shows around there?
  13. Hello, my name is Rob. I live in Northern WI and am fairly new to modeling. I recently became handicapped and found ship building as a blessing in disguise. I never really had a hobby that stuck with me interest wise like this. Im prob rambling but like I said I wanted to make my presence known, and am still going through all the great builds and tips other people are posting. Hoping to start a log of the Benjamin W Latham that I am working on, but I have to figure this forum out as I am new to this also. Anyway, thanks for letting me be a part of this community and am looking forward to getting to know some people.
