  1. Yes. I’m following instruction. I have a “anatomy of the ship…” but this will be more helpful for rigging I think. First show of illumination: IMG_2657.MOV
  2. Small update on the build. I attempted a weathering of the main deck. I might overdone it, but in real life doesn’t look bad. So it stays. The firs LED is in place. The second deck is only dry fitted.
  3. I will try to build something looking like the Santa Maria using new edition of Artesania Latina kit. I have to say it is a very high quality kit. Even plywood looks like they polished it. Dryfitting looks promising The quality is so good, they even give me a pre bend false deck😂 But with the sails it is screw up what I suppose to do with those sails margins??🤔 But on the bright side, my plan is to give her some lights. It will be my first ever attempt to use LEDs. Already drilled holes in the bulkheads for the wires.
  4. The clove hitch is what is used to tie ratlines to the shrouds on the real ships. Using it on the model is replicating the original as close as possible. Using a needle is kind of cheating :). saying that, sometimes the knot looks too large or too close to each other so the overall effect is not eye-pleasing. Depending on the scale. And the end it is up to the modeler how far one wants to go in replicating the original.
  5. Hello Thank you for accepting me in this wonderful forum. My name is Przemek, I started modeling as a kid from paper models to plastic. And now I'm hooked up with wood. My first wooden ship was of course HMS Victory from De Agostini partwork. I think she turned out quite OK with some upgrades. Mainly blocks and ropes. The next one was Avos from Master Korabel - which I think really should be my first model. And this is how she looks: Stay tuned for my next project. For now, I will browse and absorb all the knowledge flowing from the forum.
