Only a minor update for today.
I've glued the elm tree pumps into place and fixed the anchor to the anchor cable.
Well, it wasn't even a good idea to paint the casing and the outlet black...
The anchor will be stowed later
And at last a total view as of July 27.

Hi all, the next part of the deck fittings is done: the elm tree pumps. The assembly was quite time-consuming.
The first image shows all the parts of the pumps
Referred to the instruction the outlet should be just glued to the casing and nothing else. I decided to fit the parts into each other. I also drilled a little hole into the outlet.
In the next step I've glued the two parts of the yoke together and glued then to the side of the pump casings.
The rest of the assembly was quite easy.

More progress made........
Forward cabin deck cut to shape with top edge tapered off and bullnose molding added to lower edge. Bullnose or the taper isn't shown in the blueprints.
Another major change on this is the walkway on the forward cabin deck. The blueprints show this on top of the secondary roof on the forward cabin, looking through screen captures from the movie, it should be directly on the forward cabin deck. Also created the wood trim that is on both sides of the walkway. The short walls for the sides of the secondary roof are supposed to be angled slightly also, which I did. These are scribed to look like planking.
Also realized the the side windows on the side of the cabin should be 1/8" lower than what they were, so I lowered the bottom edge of them.
Also added the splash guards and the pulpit support, both of which were modified from the blueprints.

It's too late now, but If you have problems with your tape just give the Tamiya tape a try. It's perfect for those paintings.

Hi all, the windlass is finished. The assembly was quite easy. In fact there were no problems at all.
The kit provides a bunch of octagons to be assembled to the windlass barrel.
The glued and sanded parts:

At last I would like to show you an overall view of the model with all the parts on deck. The parts are not glued yet.

A fine job you made of that windlass Richard, nice to see it can be done. I failed miserably to get it to look right and had to scratch one in the end.
