popeye the sailor reacted to mtaylor in USS Constellation by mtaylor - FINISHED - Artesania Latina - bashed heavily into 1854 Sloop of War
Welcome to MSW, Madin. Sorry for not getting back sooner but life and and all that.
Do give some thought to an intro post in our New Members area. It's been a long time since I built this model and much is buried in Mind Dust, but I do believe Denis is correct. There's more than a few builds complete and many still under way. Use the search function with the keyword "Constellation" and you should get all the builds past and present.

popeye the sailor got a reaction from jct in Clotilda by popeye the sailor - Steingraeber - 1:60 scale - slave ship - modified Agilis kit
the painting spree on the Agillis included the masts on the Clotilda. I got the main parts painted in the flat gray I used for the inner bulwarks. I have a couple more parts to paint, and then I will cement what I have so far, on the model. perhaps I can even get to the channels and the pin rails.
the segments not painted will be flat black. I hope to get more done soon

hi there I've not built this model, but I've done a few like it. you would use the thicker strips to plank the hull. the thinner strips would be for the outer hull.......you must need to double plank the hull. are the darker strips thin as well.....if so, they are likely what you must use for the hull. the light colored thin stuff would be for planking the deck. after laying it, you can stain it to whatever color you prefer.

popeye the sailor got a reaction from Rik Thistle in USS Saratoga (CV-2) by SteveLarsen - 1:350 - PLASTIC - as she appeared in 1944
I wouldn't count out the SIB folks....they do phenomenal small scale in wood. but I do agree...this is a really good 'kit quality' scratch build. I'm an old plastic builder myself.......nothing I've done in the past even comes close to what Steve's doing here. very nice work!
