  1. Fair American

I built this ship with the goal of "painting with wood." There isn't a drop of paint on it. Woods used include Boxwood, Cherry, Ash, Pear, Walnut, Redheart, and Ebony.

There once was a detailed build log here, but it was lost along with my detailed log on Pegasus when the site crashed several years ago

  2. Fair American - Glenn Barlow

My rendition of the frame displayed build of the Fair American. One objective I enjoyed completing was "painting with wood" There is no paint on the completed model, all color comes from different varieties of beautiful wood.

  6. HM Nelson by glbarlow

I added a few better focused and color matched photos to my existing album.

My back to basics kit after a multi-year layoff from modeling. It's semi-scratch built as most of the kit walnut was replaced and the deck furniture scratch built (other than the winch). I added a good deal of rigging, likely not historically accurate, but it wasn't a real ship so...  I enjoyed using Chuck's blocks and ropes throughout the ship, again replacing the kit material.

It was a nice re-introduction to modeling.
