Read your build log and the answer all seems to make sense. Replies to questions posted on this site can take a little while to come back either because members work during the day or live on the other side of the world and are currently asleep!
Looking forward to seeing your work progressing.

Hi Michael,
Not sure what to suggest here. It will be interesting to hear what Caldercraft say. It could be that you're worrying necessarily and that the end result will be fine. I took these pictures of my model - bulkhead 15 is on the left, under the end of the steel rule in the second shot. This may or may not help!
Cheers,
Graham.

Hi Michael,
I'm not sure if I can full answer your question - this is only my second build and I regard myself as still a bit of a novice. I did do a 'dry run' with all my bulkheads and that was when I found that one of the bulkheads had been incorrectly machined with the deck supports on one side well above the other. It was obvious which was the wrong side so I made a new bulkhead using the correct side as a template. One thought, and I hope I'm not teaching you to 'suck eggs', but have you squared off the tops and bottoms of the slots in the in the bulkheads and keelson? I seem to recall that they are slightly radiused in the corners and this would prevent the bulkheads sitting in their correct position.
Your questions are just the sort of thing to put into your build log, which I see you have started - you will get plenty of replies and advice.
I hope this helps, and I will be following you build with interest.
Going back to our previous discussion about filling in the spaces between bow and stern bulkheads with balsa wood, check out Ed T's build in the Scratch build section that he posted the other day - it might help, although you wouldn't need to to fill in the spaces for the whole ship as he had to.
Cheers,
Graham.

No tutorial, just looking at the build logs posted by others on this site. The best way to learn any skill is to dive in and have a go. If things don't go as expected don't think of it as a mistake, it's just part of the learning curve and part of the fun and enjoyment of the hobby. I've yet to find a problem with my Victory that couldn't be put right - including having to remove half of the deck planking on the first attempt when I got the shift pattern wrong!
Cheers,
Graham

Hi Michael,
Happy to chat and give any help and advice with your forthcoming Victory build that I can. I don't have a Facebook account so the best way to communicate will be to follow Mike's (portchieboy's) advice and either PM me or, even better, start a build log. This way you'll be sure to get plenty of support if you run into problems.
I hadn't found this site when I first started my Victory. If I had I certainly would have done a few things differently, for example I'd definitely fill the spaces between the bow bulkheads with blocks of balsa wood and shape these to the correct profile before doing the first planking. My preparation for the build was to get and read copies of 'The New Period Ship Handbook' by Keith Julier and C. Longridge's 'The Anatomy of Nelson's Ships'. Browsing the build logs on this site is even more helpful!
I look forward to seeing your progress with this stunning model.
Cheers,
Graham.
