  1. Hi the original shipping costs to the Uk were very high but this was resolved and were about $30, but checking on the website today where there is 25% discount on books, all that is wiped out on a now shipping cost of $50!!! So has there been a near 60% increase in shipping tx
  2. Hi all some have mentioned using wing nuts (butterfly nuts) instead of the standard nuts for the clamp fixings. Does anyone know the thread size needed, looks like the bolts are just shy of 5mm thanks
  3. All this building jig is now available and I ordered one recently which arrived two days ago, I ordered from Hobbies.co.uk but I know at least one Scandinavian dealer has them in stock as well, but they no longer ship to the UK. Certainly, for European readers, now is the time to order before they all go again. By the way, I have been waiting for most of this year to get hold of this tx
  4. Thanks all for your responses.. Mark, I guess I am referring to laser cut frame pieces ready to be assembled rather than milled timber for example. Christian I am looking at the Lumberyard site with interest and seeing if the kits are suitable, so many thanks regards Paul
  5. Hi all having completed my Bounty model last year I now want to start a POF model kit where, hopefully, the frame elements are already prepared so I don’t have to spend aeons planning and preparing them. I am looking at a 17th or 18th century ship but clearly limited by what is available, which appears to be somewhat restricted. Any recommendations out there tx Paul
  6. Hi all Still working on the rigging of my bounty and i was wondering what to do with those lines such as bow lines, bunt lines and leech lines on a model without sails. What is the usual modelling approach and are there other lines that need similar consideration Many thanks Paul
  7. Guys I am rigging the fore yard jeers for my HMAV BOunty model and i am unclear where they ultimately belay to. According to mckay each jeer fall ends in a pair of blocks that are hooked close to the mast. However i am not sure eher the fall ultimately terminates as there are no jeer bits as such Any thoughts Paul
