  1. Been thinking on how I want to build the display for my next build after i finish the Red Dragon. I have the the HMS Victory by Mamoli 1:90 scale, and the HMS Victory Cross Section by Corel 1:98 Scale. And in my research for images for colors I came across A book "HMS Victory, Owners Workshop Manual" by Haynes in Hard Cover, and bought it. I'm thinking of building the ship and the cross section and have both of them displayed in the same acrylic case (maybe have the cross section displayed at the stern) Then make a nice woden book stand to hold the book in front of the case so people can look through the book. Thought it would make a nice display setup for the model. What do all you think? Suggestions welcome. Thanks Danny
  2. I'm starting the Red Dragon build while I finish the rigging on my Fair American, and I'm trying to find out what the three colors are in the paint set for the Red Dragon. I've looked and googled several times and for the most part all I find is the mention of the "Paint Set (3 Colors)" and not what the colors are. Any one know what these three colors are? I assume one is Red, and then maybe Black but I'm not sure. Just trying to figure out what they recomend for colors, as the pictures in my instructions are black and white, and the only color picture I have is what is on the box. I'm not sure that what they recomend is what I want to use, but just wondering why the big secret. Thanks Danny
  3. Currently doing the rat lines on my Fair American, and was wondering what type of knots some of you do. I am using a clove hitch to tie my rat lines to the shrouds. Do any of you use another kind of knot to tie your rat lines? The rat lines are the most time consuming and monotonous type of rigging I think.... Be glad when this is done. Thanks Danny
  4. Went through the kits I have, and I thought I would list them and see if anyone has any input for these kits. All of these were bought years ago, before lazer cut came into the picture, some don't even have the parts precut, ya follow the line with your coping saw. ;-) Not listed in any order: HMS Victory by Mamoli this is the larger one Red Dragon Chinese Junk by Artesania Latina Oseberg Viking ship by Billing Boats Morgans Whale Boat by Artesania Latina Carla Trawler by Dikar - got two of these free for ordering stuff from Model Expo they are small I was going to build them the same and mount them to book ends. Not sure what I'm going to start on after I finish the Fair American, thinking maybe the Red Dragon it's something different. Enjoying this site. Lot of good Info. Thanks Danny
