Tell you what mark - cockpits in model heli's you can basically add what you want to super detail them - like fuse wire for wiring runs, odds and sods of boxes anything really just adds to the sense that its a one off even if it is hidden.

Looks like a CH-53 office to me. 🙂
Great start, Mark.
I always find my photos are a buzz kill because photos have a way of showing little details I don't see with the naked eye. A good way to "proof" your work.
I like the story, did the guys know it was a nudist camp ahead of time? We once had to do a job at a nudist camp here in Florida, and I gotta tell you, most of the folk at the camp were people I would never ever want to see in the nude again. Almost gave me nightmares for weeks afterward.
Hey! I take a bath in the nude😝 not a nice sight, mark the first coat of paint down is not a worry good thing about paint easy to touch it up - and I believe if you use a really high power magnifier to build/paint with, when viewed at normal distance you will find it will look superb, as Craig said above cameras are terrible for exposing tiny things.

Hi all,
Some good progress today - over four hours on her, I finished rat-ing the top main shrouds, then working from the top gallant down, I worked on the top gallant spar firstly cleaning up and painting the two tackle blocks, these were then lashed and glued in place then I sorted a length of lifting rope this had to be smoothed out with my normal method of rubbing watery pva in to smooth out the fray ends.
I started at the top found the center point of the rope length then tied and glued around the top gallant block, then I rigged them through the tackle and ran them down each side through the lower shrouds and tied off on the bulwark hand rails.
Just the three pics a couple out of focus and hand shake but I think it shows what I have done.
As always - Sincere Thank You for all the likes and replies.

Actually I found the list last year for a problem OC was having. Finding it today in the place I had stored it on my computer was MUCH harder! I have a tendency to hoard information like I do models, and sometimes my file system can use a little cleaning up.
And I appreciated Lou helped me No end.👍

They just finished refurbishing the real Memphis Bell and putting her up on static display. The pictures of the rebuild were amazing and it looks like she could fly. Too bad they didn't take her all the way.
Lots of Warbird restorations happening over here this year have heard they are even talking about a second Lancaster returning to the Sky plus many other single and double prop planes.

Saw an AC-130 Specter gunship doing his thing one night. 20mm, 37mm(I think) and a 105 mm for good measure. Charley would be hurtin', for certain. And we threw some CBU cans on top of all that. Wasting trucks on the Trail on Laos. The gunship would mark the target with a call for the 20mm of sparkle and boy did it.
Those Ghostriders were some planes.

I'm Back
I recharged my batt's and found my mojo - I decided to get out on the table just what I needed to continue on the Pearl, this wasn't much just a few tools etc, I got the pearl out of the display case (still with a layer of dust - but guess that adds to her ghostly look).
After checking were I add left off - I picked up with the rats going up the main tops, this I did both sides - same procedure of fine sowing thread wrapped round each then a dab of ca before trimming each end.
I then moved on to the main top shroud rats starting both sides.
It actually didn't feel that different and I picked up quite easily.
Its good to be back.

That was some rotor diameter on the 53 wasn't it something like 50feet?
With the flat black I sometimes had the same issue - with me it was paint not mixed well enough - then a second coat on top.
