  2. Thanks Tom, but I made a rule when I started this project that I would buy absolutely nothing ready made, bit of a masochistic point of view I admit especially as it is my first model!

  4. I am building a scratch model of HMS Bounty 1/60 and am ready to start mounting the fore yard. All the blocks are in place but now I need to rig the jeers to the yard. How can i hold it in place while I run the line through the jeers, seem a very fiddly thing to do. Any ideas? Malc
  5. On my scratch model of Bounty I will not be fitting sails, so what happens to the blocks and lines that would go from the yards to the clews, bunt lines ect?
  6. Making yards for my Bounty 1;60 scale. Round or square stock? I know I need the octagonal section in the middle, so which do you guys use? Malc
  7. Thank guys, very helpful,Norman's idea is very tempting, but I promised myself that absolutely nothing would be purchased in finished or kit form...so masochist that I am, have to scratch build them. Malc
  8. I am scratch building HMS Bounty scale 1:60. Any help on how to make the open launches? Do I need temporary formers to support the planking and would they have been clinker built? Malc
