    In the old dry dock forms someone had used liquid plumber to blacken brass however I never saved the directions, went back sometime ago and the web site was gone. Mentioned this in another thread here but no body commented on it. If anyone has used this method would appreciate their info.

    I like the idea of painting but not sure about spray painting small items. One way of blackening I saw in the old Dockyard forums was to use Strong Liquid Plummer but didn't keep the instructions. Anyone try that method?

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
