  1. Hi With the bulkhead closing the chamber, the "fine" carpentry is for later, now and before installing more equipment on the deck I will make the lining of the submerged part of the frigate’s hull since for this operation I have to put the keel up. Adrián Sorolla
  2. Hi Continuing with the embellishment of the stern, this time the installation of the decorations in the stern, it is only a top decoration glued to the corning and a tiny cutlet with the name of the boat. These decorations are drawn by Fermin Urtizberea Oronoz, in 3D and relined in CNC by Migue, Miquel Rodríguez García Adrián Sorolla
  3. Hi Modification of the decorations of the walls, the panels in the form of molding are much better Adrián Sorolla
  4. Realization of the interior of the captain’s chamber, 1st part, the ground Adrián Sorolla
  5. Already on other work, I have realized the escuppers of the main bridge, in the external part of the side. Adrián Sorolla

  8. Hi I have spent a few days making the decorations of the stern of the frigate La Mahonesa. I leave here some photos of the work I am doing Cordially Adrián Sorolla
  9. Hi Indeed, they are pieces that have some complexity inside the stern of the frigate La Mahonesa at the level of the cóck pit., but you have solved it very well. Good continuation Adrián Sorolla
  10. Hi, Klarsen I am glad that you have decided for this project, the Mahonese is a beautiful frigate, I am sure that you will perform this work perfectly and you will be satisfied with the result, I will be happy to follow your progress. The length of the keel is 35cm at scale 1:1, which at 1/48 is 7.3mm, in all length, the half-timbers from 64 to 70 and from number 7 to number 1 are installed on a central wooden block, I have checked the measurement of the keel drawn in the different planes and in all measures 7.3mm, in their measurements there may be some error due to the dilation or contraction of the drawing in the printer, there is on page 130 of the book a breakdown of all the measures of the important parts. The best thing would be to take the measures of the axial structure of plane 3 that is dedicated to the structure. The drawing of the timbers of the plane nº8, should only be used to develop the scroll of the timbers. Adrián Sorolla
  11. Hi. No, just the coincidence of the surname Sorolla, and the city of birth Valencia, Spain Adrián Sorolla
  12. And some photos of the inside of this frigate, made with the cell phone by the openings made in the side You can see the lighting coming from the unlined parts of the decks Some details of the construction can be obaservados in these photographs cordially Adrián Sorolla
  13. Hi I leave some photographs of the construction of the main deck of the frigate La Mahonesa. Some areas have not been lined with wood, to illuminate the inner parts
  14. Hello The name of this frigate was " Santa Monica" alias "La Mahonesa" because it was built in the port of "Mahon" on the island of Manorca in the Baleares Islands in Spain Though not far from the denomiation of "Mayonnaise", which is the deformation of the name of a salsa called "mahonesa", which was made on the same island of menorca, during the time that this belonged to England and is known internationally. Adrián
  15. Hi A small video of the inside of the frigate La Mahonesa https://youtu.be/TWR0ZvGBwBE https://youtu.be/Zb1aaqmCFVI Adrián
  16. Hi In the previous message he showed that he was mechanizing the woods that form the water ways of the deck main of the frigate La Mahonesa, now this one is installed water ways, I put 2 photos taken from stern to bow and the other from bow to stern. The next step for which I am preparing the woods, is the placement of the two water ways (against), this which is stuck to the side, and in the center the installation of the two sets of binding streaks, all these parts together with the knee deck are the main part of the structure of the deck, and since it is a battery deck are robust parts. In a 3D graph of Fermín, in marked all these pieces for a better identification, which I guess will be useful to those who are not yet familiar with this type of structures. The gutter ledges of the beams and ledges, will be installed then, and as final will cover the remaining space with tracks of boards of lesser thickness In a zoom of the deck over the central area, (in the mid ship frame), we see where there is the investment of the layout of the structure, here in the deck is visible in the placement of the gutter ledges, we appreciate the shroud on one side of the beams, and more to the bottom in the same face of the bao is a notch, to insert the gutter ledges, the two halves look at the mid ship frame. 17. Thank you very much for the positive comments about the book: AN INTRODUCTION TO PLANKED ON FRAME SCALE MODEL SHIP BUILDING “DOCKYARD STYLE” I do not want to make much fuss about the "No Idea" team, I just want to leave at your disposal a link to the album of all the photos that were made during the construction of the model of "Le Rochefort" and that after some of them were used to doubt the book described above. I hope that having these photos that complement those of the book, is useful to those who are preparing to build this small and beautiful boat https://goo.gl/photos/smMP2r6mED2ySm2W8 That’s it, if any of you have any questions about the book you can send me a message, I promise to answer Adrián Sorolla
  18. Hi , No Idea Congratulations on the work, clean and well done. Le Rochefort is a ship destined to the supply of powder the fleet therefore the barrels, that samples in the interior of the cargo hold, do not carry metal rings, go recercados with ropes. You can see it on the cover photo of the monograph book. as I do not know if the translation was understood well, I put a photo of the barrels I hope you understand that this is just a comment Adrián Sorolla
