  1. What techniques and tools do you use to fair your bulkheads for planking?
  2. New member in Washington state. Received my first model for Xmas after many years of hints. I’m working on the Perseverance and finished laying the keel a few days ago. Starting the process of hull fairing this evening....
  3. I am currently exploring the possibilities of bevelling frame edges once frames and keel are assembled, and the hull inverted, using a CNC. Planking fairing may be done in this way too. I don't suppose this is a particularly original idea, but it would be interesting to speak to anyone who has attempted it.
  4. Based on the instructions that came with my kit, I went ahead and beveled the edges of the bulkheads (a rough fairing, if you will) before they were all glued into the center keel. In hindsight (and part of me knew it at the time), this was not the best course of action. Now that everything is together, I'm noticing a few bulkheads where the angle of the bevel I used is a little too extreme. If I wanted to patch these up a bit so that I could perform a better fairing, could I use wood filler on the edges of the bulkheads, waiting for it to cure before sanding it to the right angle?
  5. hello i just start to work on the royal louis of mamoli and there is a lotttttt of problems with the frames... so i glue them on 90 deg but they Still uneven so far i got the deck leveled and 90 Degrees on the frame Against the kill now i got left(to make level )the Bottom and the sides of the frames (they dident cut the frames properly in the factory !!!!!!!!! ) for that i have to learn how to do the firing properly because i dont want to lose the forma of the ship i know that i will have to fill some frames also (because some of them they are out of the line and some
