A new beginning to an old project. I acquired the Amati Endeavour around 2005, let it sit for awhile and then started it, only to drop it again after minimal progress. Here is the kit box. Got the bulkheads installed, deck base added, and started mast tapering (seen on the grooved board I used to keep it straight over the years). Hi everyone This is my second venture into model boat building. The first model was an unbuilt yacht design by a Sydney amateur yacht designer; this one is a much earlier design by the same man - E.C. "Cliff" Gale. Karoo was a 20' open sailing boat with a bowsprit & gaff sloop rig. Karoo was raced & was also a family boat. Incredibly they (Cliff & Mrs Gale, plus 3 strapping young sons) used to pack her full of gear for holidays & spend a week or two aboard on Pittwater, Broken Bay & the associated waterways Cowan Creek, Coal & Candle Creek etc.
So I was pressed by the Admiral to sell my dream car a 1971 beetle. The car was out of capabilities to repair and she didn't like it sitting around. She was very generous though in that she told me I could take a portion of the money and get my self something. I have been wanting to build an rc sail boat for some time but now I finally have some money to throw at it. I will admit I am one of those crazies that doesn't want to do a T(numeral) kit.
