Starting my first log! This is my second POH ship and was looking to start afresh in my ship modeling seeing as my last model didn't survive my most recent move and I need a nifty new mantle decoration. Adventure is a "pirate" schooner kit offered by Amati. The last ship I completed was also an Amati in 2014 and I now recall frustrations from the vague details in the instructions provided. I rushed through that model, had plenty of very, very visible mistakes and only admired the finished product as it was my first. Luckily I found another build log here for Adventure that has been helpful, and I figured I'd document my current build here also to further the available info for future "Adventure-rs". I'm on break from school for the next few weeks so I really hope to get a lot done with the build. I've already completed some of the first steps (deck planking, first hull planking), I'll be posting pictures soon! Thanks!
Hello, I just received the ship, imaged attached, and need some help with identification. This was a ship my grandfather started restoring that was passed to my farther and now me. I do not believe they were able to make much progress at all and I would like to at least strip off the old paint, repair the rigging and sails, as well as missing pieces. My first question is any idea the make or model of this ship? Or how to determine what the sale sizing and quantity should be? From there is there any place to order the rigging and sails from? I am an engineer so am typically good with my hands and repairs, but I know nothing about modeling ships. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also this ship is big, like over 40" X 14" X 40" I can provide detailed dimensions once I am home. Thanks!
Hi, maybe I am asking this question in wrong section, but I am interested in stand made of glass in shape of sea with waves. So do you know anything about this king of stand or how it can be built or where it can be bought from? Thank you!
I was digging around my spare room upstairs where I keep my hobby stuff and while looking for something I found a Midwest Products Canadian Canoe. I had started building the model a couple of years ago and put it away to work on something else and totally forgot I even had it. I really want to get better at planking before I start my Artesania Latina Swift Ship Kit so I'm going to try to finish this kit next. Anyway, here's what I'd had finished so far. Hope you all like it. The first picture showing the start of the build is not my picture but one I found online. I hadn't taken pictures until what you see in the next build progress picture but wanted to show what it starts out as. Sorry for the blurry picture.
