it should be better but i used very hard to deal with coper thats was a mistake, but because the Mamoli kit didnt came with copers so i had to get the coper plate from a locale place they were not well cut and arround 0.5 thicknes..

i soak the complet hull lath in water waiting so i can work on uper waterline second plank

i hope wont take time as it did with the coper dressing as it tooks me from 12/04/2012 :) i stoped working many times  in that period

Hello George

You sure are a patient chap. I would add a thin strip at the waterline and tidy up the tiles so they are flush to the strip . I am sure once you finish your second planking you will be very happy to see your progress. Good luck with your build, and keep posting with photos, if you ever need any information during your build, don't forget it is always here, so you just need to ask . Just enjoy youself George . regards DAVID

I absolutely love your pics mate, I am doing the same kit, 1:90 scale mamoli

I have had a few gaps in the build as we had a second child then moved house 5 years ago, so there have been other things at the top of the "to-do" job list.  However, I am almost done with the house so will hopefully soon be back on the build., will bookmark your model for reference , keep it up.

i'm confusing if i should varnish my ship now and then start working on deck or wait till i finish everything and varnish the ship later
IMG_8486.thumb.JPG.42916839f861da10e2d3cefc9701d031.JPG

i'm using this Varnish as i paint my ship with acrylic

my concern is if i varnish the ship i might not be able to glue any more things on the ship
i will test it but i need your help

any help with this ??

Ha-ha. Spider with this speed building your model (13 years?) it’s not going to be soon you get to your beloved rope knots and rigging.

I'm not in a rush mate, am busy decorating the hall/stairs and landing at the moment, stripping all the paint off the stairs to leave them with a waxed polish light oak finish and a carpet runner down the centre... more bloody wood!!

my boat is a lifetime project, hopefully soon to be a retirement project!!

I hope you are all safe and well and managing to get through any restrictions due to this awful virus.

I have done a few little bits on my planking , mainly down to the waterline, I have now decided to do the green plates both sides and then cover them with copper foil tape..

watch this space.

Merry Christmas to you as well Diablo! Happy New Year! Appreciate your kind words on my build. In truth, my transom is coming together more because of your progress/pictures than of the Mamoli instructions!  I am nearing the end of my build as I only intend to go to a 'hull down' type of finish rather than the full up, rigged model.    Takes up much less room.  Of course, I might change my mind later:)

hello Rob S

rigging is something very amusing to work with except the rat line are very difficult and boring especially in HMS victory cause i believe you need to make like 12 rat line but when i made my Toulounaise i enjoyed the rigging and believe me it will give a very nice ship with rigging

i think you will change your mind later

good luck and i will try to start my build again
