Hi Greg, looks like you are going hard. When I do planking I only blacken one side of the plank and never blacken the ends, it is also easier if you draw lines on the deck first marking where your butts are going to be(this helps keeping them aligned) . When planking, normally the pattern is repeated every three or four rows not every second, however, in your case I think that would make  some of your planks too short. I, myself would have used full planks for this deck as it does not seem as though it is that long.

Hi Greg,

I was curious about this particular kit and will be watching your build with heaps of interest. There's plenty of experienced folk on this forum that are more than willing to help in the best way possible and I'm sure that you'll do a great job and have a lot of fun along the way.  Happy modeling!!
