Majellan by Omega1234 - Luxury 37 metre Motor Yacht - 1/200 Miniature 7 inches approx - Finished

Recommended Posts

Wow, Patrick, looking really great!

She's looking very sleek and elegant. And it's good to see your thought process teasing out how to get the functionality you're looking for!

And, I especially love the shot your son took of your workstation - really puts things in perspective, and also gives a 'behind the scenes' feel with the various drawings and tools lying about.

Glad to hear you had a good Christmas, and all the best for the New Year!

~ Ben

The boat is coming along fine Patrick, it is a very impressive yacht. Superb work, I think it is very difficult to get this right and make all this massive superstructure look elegant. I must say I had not appreciated from the drawings how lovely it would look.

On a different note, were the photos taken during actual work? After 20 minutes my workbench looks like having been hit by a hurricane.

Hi Vaddoc

Many thanks and yep, the photos were taken during a work session. I guess that's the advantage of these small build's...less mess!

Hi everyone and many thanks for all of your comments and well wishes for the New Year! Greatly appreciated.

I've done some more work on the major components of the superstructure; paying particular attention to how they can be removed easily for viewing.

Here are the latest progress shots.

Cheers

G'day Patrick

As we say in Oz......bloody marvelous. The supet structure is a piece of art and the way you worked out how to show each floor is just brilliant my friend.

Now, I'm putting on my daddy's hat. Don't forget to sand outside or use a mask!

Hi Greg

Thanks! It was deciding how to break the superstructure up into manageable, yet, removable components that was the hardest thing to do, (so far). This was made all the more difficult as I don't have detailed plans, apart from the basic lines drawings that I've downloaded from the net, (and photos), so a lot of guess work has come into play. Not bad, though, I reckon.

Have a good'un and thanks once again.

PS - my mask is getting a good workout!

Cheers

Patrick
