I think that some people understand me wrong….

I'm not in a hurry and I don't want to go on the smooth way.

I'm just building at the best I can.

But when the drawings are this bad, It's difficult to be happy….some times.

And when I can write this down it is a relief.

When I go back to the workshop again, I still like it!

I face the challenge and go on with what i'm doing.

But a little complaining is not that bad?

I still like you all  :D

Augie,

It'snot the crow nest himself that gives me troubles but those things what goes under it…..

No worries, they are finished!

All 6 of them!

Oh those things......all 6 of them (still somewhat confused).  I'm going to take a page out of you-know-who's book and wait for the pictures :D  :D

Derek,

I hate to say it but yes, the drawings are a pain in the …….

There is no drawing on scale from 1:1

The only thing they tell you is this…..make the vessel and shut up!

If you want a challange, then go for the Mirage.

I shall help you where I can.

Even with the words that I don't write here…...

Sjors, I am really impressed, 2 builds at once, both of your builds look wonderful! I am sure after each of the small difficulties you have encountered and mastered you will be very happy with the end results.

Robbyn,

Thanks for the pep talk…...

I know that everyone has his/her moments of things that not goes as it wants to be.

This morning I had that moment.

But it is gone now.

Tomorrow after the daily jobs in the house, I go further till the next minor thing.

I know for sure that there are a lot more to come.

You are right with what you are saying….when it is done I'll be satisfied.

Commander Sjors,

Your ships are both looking amazing - you have a great talent and I am learning from your builds. I have a long way to go to reach your level of craftmanship!

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the title Commander ……...

Thanks for the comment on my ships.

You make me shy with your words.

I'm just a guy, I glue a few planks together and it becomes to look like a ship.

I have seen more builders who are really craft-mans…..

By those builders I'm still a novice but I don't mind.

I love what I'm doing and I do my best on it.

But thanks again.

I wish that my teacher from school can read this….

He always told me that I'm not good for anything…..

And now I'm learning something to somebody!

Love this hobby!

Sjors, just tell yourself that scratching parts is fun. It makes the time go faster. Actually, I lied about the faster part. But it is fun and you make parts that look better than the kit stuff.

Mark thanks,

If I'm going to do scratch build I can come over to the dark side…..

But when the scratch is working is that a nice feeling.

you know all the shiny decorations could have been to blind the enemy so they could line up their guns adn knock them over with the cotton balls

you know i have come to not worry about bad plans or instructions. just evealuate it maybe do a bit of research and then decide on how it probably would have looked and go with it :)

I know Adrieke,

But the name of the ship is Mirage and it is an Mirage.

There are no pictures available on how she could even look.

In a few years when she is finished, everything has his own place and nobody can tell me that it is the wrong way…... :D

Mirages happen different, some materialize, for example, in the form of the ship  :)

Sjors, you can build a canoe next - join the canoe club with me and Keith! It is truly relaxing and non-frustrating :-D  until then keep the attitude up - seems that is our best asset as builders: Being Positive.

Sarah,

Thanks for the offer but no thanks.

When i buy a third ship to work on I think that I have a workshop where I can do modelling, eating, sleeping ……..

And yes, I'm positive!

Otherwise The Mirage becomes an plane…...

Here are the pain in the…….

It's not that round that i want , but it is the best I can do.

There is almost no place to put a clamp and the wood break easy…..

When all the rope's are there, maybe it look better.

It almost nice when I put the pictures in it…..

So by the next post you will see pictures.

Sjors, those are very nice pieces. I'd like to see them assembled into a whole crow's nest. You definitely have my attention. I'll patiently await further updates.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

That's all there is about the crow's nest….

There is nothing more ,only the deadeyes.
I just measure the main mast…it's gonna be 788 mm……..

And then all the ratlines…….I wanna build a canoe…...

And  a update, maybe sunday, when I placed all the deck furniture.

Thanks John,

I'll wait a little longer for the dark side.

Yesterday evening is the decision make when I was talking with Mobbsie.

The next build is gonna be the Aggy!

Wow, again a huge one.

Maybe I can rent the house of my neighbours  :)

Terrific job on the crow's nest.  You should be proud, Sjors.

And now Mobbsie has convinced you to do the Aggie ????  Holy smokes!!!!  I'm going to need to schedule a trip to Schiedam to visit the Anja & Sjors Maritime Museum.  Fantastic choice.  Not that I don't like Spanish and French ships mind you.  But there's nothing like a good, sturdy British Man o' War (unless it's American).  :D  :D

All great news from you ----- I can sleep soundly tonight.

Thanks Augie ,

When you planned a trip to Schiedam, our house is your house…...

We have only to see if we can find a place for all those ships.

You need that room …..

Or I leave one that is not finished, and you can do some building….i think I'll take one where the ratlines are not finished  :D

Yep, Mobbsie has convinced me.

He may solved all the problems for me  :)

When I buy that ship here in Holland it cost me about 1236 US dollar.

When I buy it in England it cost me about 905 US dollar.

That's a trip to England worth.
