As a northern European I am not used to these kind of "beaches" :) , but the result is absolutely fabulous!!

Jan

Regarding the pebbles beach, I can imagine that in the Netherlands may be quite uncommon but here in the Mediterranean Sea we have a lot of them . . As old good swimmer I prefer them vs sandbeaches because in general the water is always clean and deeper and you may appreciate 100% snorkeling and swimming.

Anyway, thank you for the comment. Jack.

I can look through these pics over and over again, just amazing!

(Although I must admit, boat layed on the beach with set sail? Would be strange if not dangerous in case of wind blow... ? :) )

Regarding your question, I recognize you are right . . It's not a good idea to leave a boat on a windy beach with the sails on !!

I discussed the matter with friends time ago and cannot disagree.

But I decided to proceed this way anyway because there are some right things in it: imagine a temporary situation when you let the sail dry while working  on discharging your boat.

With a bit of imagination.

Thank you again for the comment. Jack.

Jack,

the rendering of your beach is incredibly realistic. It reminds me of some small villages in the south of Spain and Italy.

You have inserted dried algae and I can see some oysters and minuscule shells.

Incredible job. You truly are an artist and need to display your pieces in a local or national museum.

Jack,

thanks for sharing this wonderful build log with your fellow members, you did a splendid job on it, just as you and your freinds did on the real thing.

I loved those pics when sailing on the Adria under that sunshine sky and the blue waters...

Jack, that is a beautiful build, with magnificent attention to detail.

I'm very interested in how the yard is held to the mast. It appears to be just a simple loop of rope. Could you post a close-up of the attachment? I'm building a lateen rigged ship myself, and I really don't know the best way to attach the yard to the mast.

Jack, thank you for that lovely boat, so typical of the Adriatic Sea. The question is:

What is your next Build? As we know you, I doubt you will stay idle and doing nothing with your artistic skills.

Again, Grazie  mile for that lovely fishing boat.

Hi Steven, I think the best answer is to publish the plan where this joint with the mast is shown near the top-right side. Its quite simple and self explaining. Regards. Jack

Hi Yves, onestly I have not yet decided.

But I've three options:

Short time project: I've three boats to complete for my (idle) project HMS Guadelupe; a couple of months

Medium time project: a Viking Knarr, a viking merchant ship, interesting to repeat a lapstrake planking, +/- one year

Long Term project: HMS Revenge, Elizabethan Galleon

I'll decide within a couple of weeks.

Regards, Jack.

Jack, is there any chance you could post a close-up of the fixing for the yard? It's a bit hard to read the detail at this size.

Thanks again

Hi Steven, I've a question for you.

What do you mean for "the fixing of the yard" ? You'd like a higher resolution images or what else ? Thanks in advance, jack.

Hi Jack,

It's the rope loop that holds the yard to the mast. Yes, a higher resolution would be good. The picture isn't very clear.
