Steve 12345 Posted February 15, 2017 Author Share #110 Posted February 15, 2017 Hello all bit more final touches completed ive done some of the winch lines and various ropes as for the trawl doors im not satisfied with the look of the 2mm brass surround i have decided to remake these using one of them i removed the brass and added 3mm to the bottom and 3mm to the side then i was able to use this as a template to create two new doors 1mm shy of the door with fitted brass wire i will next attach 0.5mm brass all around doors and see how that looks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Steve 12345 Posted February 19, 2017 Author Share #116 Posted February 19, 2017 progress so far on the Mare Nostrum the last part of the build I have found frustrating with the trawl doors the instuctions call for 4 brass pins to be shaped and fitted tied together with a silver wire the first door I did I was pleased with however trying to recreate this with the second has so far took ten attempts and to date im not happy so will carry on trying to replicate the first. and for the border of the doors they call for a 2mm brass wire to be fitted I have tried this but not happy with the result I ordered some 0.5 mm brass plate in the hope I could rip 2mm strips to use as the surround however all this has resulted in is I now need to order a new blade for my proxxon saw I remade the doors to the size of original includeing 2mm brass wire so if I cant figure out how to make 2mm x0.5 surround I may just use the doors without brass surround Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
