Dont get it. The oppenings are 9mmx9mm. The disc is very big for that.... how did you did it? Did you cut the disc in a smaller diameter. I use the dremel drill. Meking a number of holes and then connecting them together and cleaning the h opening with files and sand paper

Its not a stupid question you got there. The answer is that the dvd has detailed pictures and instructions where the mesuarments are given in various ways.  Extra to that there is a big coloured picture scale 1:1 ( showing every view of the ship) where you can actually mesuare everything.

That's right. Steps for crew to climb the hull from small boats to the upper deck.

Good work, looks like you're having a blast. 

 

Thats correct about the steps, they weren't common place until the later half of the 17th century and disappeared at the beginning of the early 19th century. Even then usually only found on larger ships.

 

With those types of items like the steps and the channels I like to use fine pins inserted through the piece leading into the hull. This will give it more 'teeth' it help keep it in place.
