Seems I have not checked in here in a while. I may have pictures in a few days. I have got the masts and spars ready to be rigged. I am running into some tough going with holding on the lower round pieces onto the round mast. I actually drilled a hole and put a pin In to help line it up since it just would not stay. I've put in some time but really don't feel I have much to show for it so be patient and I will get pictures eventually. :): :) :) I have also been fixing pieces that just did not want to stay glued together.....

Hopefully Adrieke's video straightens you out.  Shrouds typically run in pairs...from a deadeye up to the mast top, around and then back down to the next deadeye.  Sometimes, a single will run from a deadeye on one side of the ship to one on the other side.

Looks good.  Just one thing.  I don't know how you've connected the spars to the masts.  Normally, I leave them off until the masts are fixed in place, the shrouds all installed and all the ratlines put in.  I find that the spars just get in the way and I usually poke an eye out working on the shrouds.

It's great to have everything ready to go but I like to have the lower masts finished before I move up to the higher masts.  Then on to the spars.

Whatever works best for you.

Hi David,

I just found your build. What wonderful clean work! That dragon head is a wonderful touch.

When you install the shrouds, you work with alternating pairs of shrouds, starting at the forward starboard side and moving aft. The first pair you put on should be the forward ones on the starboard side. The loop formed by that pair will sit at the bottom of the pile of shrouds at the lower masthead. On top of those goes the loop formed by the first pair on the port side. On top of those goes the next pair on the starboard side, then the next on the port, etc. The loops are seized together and wormed and served to a few feet below the masthead. I hope this makes sense.

Great, imaginative build!
