Thanks, Rob. I'm thinking about a couple of furled sails on the lower yards, and maybe a jib sail. Plenty of time to ponder that............

Here's what I did on the Charles Notman:

Over the weekend, I spent another 4 1/2 hours to get the yard to the stage you see below. I built out the squared ends and yes, there is a sheave inside. There's also 10 eyebolts, 4 wires for the stunsail irons, and of course the truss. Still need to add the footropes. The jackstay supports are .020" thread tied around them.

The squared off ends of the yard were missing "something" - I realized that the yard flared into the square, rather than just abruptly change. So I added some filler, I think it looks a lot better now.

Each mast will be differently raked. If they are parallel (with the same rake) they don't look right. Mast rake normally increases as you move aft in a ship for both aesthetic reasons but also because if you splay them by increasing the rake from forward to aft as is normally done, you allow more space between the masts at the top which means you can carry more sail without overlapping them too much. I'm not sure what the variation is on Red Jacket but I seem to recall Cutty Sark's masts were raked 1 degree more from fore mast to main and another degree for the main to the mizzen. I can't recall the exact rake but it was in the high 80s, maybe 87 degrees or so for the main but don't quote me on that number.

Super job...love it all coming together.  Do you have a chain sling under the *hounds* fixed to the yard?   Those little boogers can be quite a handful to get just right so the yard is parallel to the deck and the truss is perpendicular to the mast.

Love it.....looks so clean.

Oh....on the Red Jacket the sling went through the tops and over the mast cap, or through the tops and around the main mast doubling instead of bolted to the mast between the mast cheeks?  Interesting.  I knew many designs were incorporated, but not so sure they were incorporated on clippers.

Great job.
