His may be brighter and flashier than your build Patrick but I think I like your rendition better. His is just for looks, you have added authenticity and accuracy to yours.

Here we go again.

The Bounty build is restarted, If everything goes according to plan, she will be ready this winter

The yards are painted. And now i can start with the rigging.
I had the idea of adding sails. But since my base plate looks like the bottom of some kind of dry dock this is not really appropriate.
A ship with full sails in dry dock ... not good. So no sails or maybe furled sails.

A small update on the furled sails.

Attempt 1 (and 2) with different paper tissue and CA glue. Wasn't what it was supposed to be.
I got good results with it in military modeling, but for furled sails, unsuitable.
Also discovered that the brown color of the yards did not match this model, so they are painted black now.

Attempt 3
sails sewn from cloth.
1 test model done.  This attempt has worked out reasonably well, but not quite what it should be.

Are you trying to make furled sails or clewed-up sails ?  Your 'attempt 3' shows actually a clewed up sail ... I would also check out how sails were 'bent' to the yards at that time, befor jackstays came into use. The thread you used seems to be a bit oversized for the purpose.

I found this technique on you tube.

This is the first test of the third attempt. The intention is to think about necessary improvements.

And yes,  the thread is indeed too thick.

And now i know what clewed up sails are 👍

Personally, I would use a clear varnish or sanding filler (both organic solvent-based !) to stiffen the material - a dab of thinner allows you to re-arrange the sail even after the varnish has dried. CA or acrylics cannot be easily softened without destroying everything.

Also at this small scale, real cloth is most likely too thick and coarse. For set sails the lightest silk-span might do, but for clewed-up or furled sails tissue paper is a better option. In the case of furled sails, you may also find that a full-size sail will result in too much sail on the yard, just shorten it a bit until the amount of sail looks right - this is because even tissue is way over-scale.

Next try

Sewn sails are indeed out of scale at 1/110.
Back to the 1st method with paper tissue. This time not kept in shape with CA glue but with diluted PVA glue. And the furled sails are easier than the cluwed sails

20201011_095645.thumb.jpg.3fdea7d11e3061de4065840fe0cd081a.jpg

First footropes were applied. A metal wire first folded into shape

20201011_102204.thumb.jpg.388c6d4c845d1f1954be3e872aa6889a.jpg
Then the sail and the ropes.  i think this methode looks better and fits more this scale.

Maybe these should be cut shorter20201011_115215.thumb.jpg.d5e2967d5b491e87944899398fb47bba.jpg20201011_114751.thumb.jpg.a6407955ba27753852efcf6a1e4e44e0.jpg20201011_114914.thumb.jpg.a1873c91e756a8f2cd4a3a3bdf26d0e0.jpg20201011_114906.thumb.jpg.01976d7bcb4b68ecd07d5e606378cf51.jpg
The "how to build" will follow later (if it becomes this method).

Constructive ideas are still welcome.
And, if someting is not right, please say so.  Military modeling : years of experience. Sails, furled or cluwed, are unexplored territory for me.

Beginning to look the thing !

As I said earlier, one should ascertain, whether the sails were furled underneath the spar or above it. The latter is probably associated with jack-stays, but I am not sure, that these were already used on the BOUNTY.

Smal update

The sails are finished and i started with the rigging.

The aim is to apply as much rigging as possible.

Since I am not an expert in 18th century rigging, there may be something here and there that is not entirely correcty

the "tissue" is from a roll of paper used in factories, garages. To dry hands after washing, clean up oil or dirt, ect.

low quality paper, but suited for furled sails.

And received 2 things today.
a good
A few weeks ago I asked through the Revell website if I couldn't buy extra rope from them. For the extra finishing of the Bounty
A reply came pretty quickly that they were going to send this.
And today, a package (And without a bill attached)

a bad
I received a positive result about my corona test 😷

Fortunately, the symptoms are mild  and hopefully soon forgotten.

So a lot of free time for rigging.
But I am tired quickly

Thanks everyone.
We have been very careful since March this year.

You can't enter my workplace (factory) without a temperature control. Disinfect everything, mouth masks, etc.
And yet infected at work.

Advice from Backer : If possible, avoid all unnecessary contact.
corona can be everywhere
