Hi all,

Is there a congestion on the MSW server?  I am getting lots (I mean lots) of these:

I have checked my connection with my ISP and I am getting full speed connection and quick ping time, so no problem there I think.  I am also having no problems connecting with any other website.

It is usually in the morning here in Australia that I experience the problem (but sometimes in the evening also) which may correspond with peak times in the other hemisphere / time zones but I have not experienced this until recently.  Could it also be a bearer issue?

cheers

Pat

I ran into that also yesterday.  It was a bit strange as sometimes full speed ahead and sometimes not.  If you're running Trend Micro, check CPU usage as they have a bug that eats 50% or more CPU speed.  I applied the patch late yesterday but haven't seen any timeouts today.  But, Trend Micro may not have been the problem.

Edit:  Here's the TrendMicro link:  https://en.community.trendmicro.com/tm_en/topics/information-about-high-disk-activity-of-trend-micro-anti-malware-solution-platform

Thanks Mark, I don't have Trend loaded so that is not the issue but as you report it is in 'fits and starts' - cannot figure what is going on.

I need to add a correction... it's back for me also.  Grrrrrr..    Only seems to be MSW and on all three browsers:  Chrome, Firefox, and IE.

All good so far today; any ideas from Admins as to what may have been causing this?   Was there a scheduled, or unscheduled,  maintenance activity or the like?  i didn't see any notifications so assumed not scheduled if this was the cause.

cheers

I did see down the bottom of the screen a little box saying

"waiting for LHS Handshake" i think that is what it said and seemed

to be waiting on that.,

The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
