Rigging sequences

Hi guys an gals

Just a question i have all my sails ready 21 of them and they are pre rigged .

I have done all the standard rigging.

Question is could i put on all my sails before doing the shrouds and ratlines.

Well..I built my Great Republic differently this time, by rigging each mast with sails down to the upper topsail....leaving off the lower topsail and main course.  Knowing that with the yards and sails off I could easily rigg the shrouds and ratlines...THEN add the them.

This is the first model I utilized this technique.  And it has been greatly successful.


Here is an image or two to demonstrate how the shrouds are easily accessible to add.


I would add the shrouds before the yards and sails on your build.

I am in nearly the same situation. However, I have done all my standing rigging and ready for the running. I am having most sails furled and a few set. My question is - in what order should I add the yards & sails - bottom-up, front-back ??

Mate I've put all my sails on my yards and im going to do all my staysails first then my mainsails I'll start from the bottom and work my way to the top 

But thats just me
