LE FLEURON 1729 by KUDIN - 1/48 scale - Kudin Andrey - YouTube

Recommended Posts

Kudin, thanks for that lesson. I have used ordinary nuts to convert square to round in the past but that does not work if you want leave part of it square, only if to turn down the entire length. With your die method I see you can do the ends and finish with a tidy square face. Good stuff.

Your use of dies to reduce round stock is new me. Very useful.

I would try with a regular nut if I didn’t have such a set ...

The nut lays on the plane, and is fixed. An electric screwdriver rotates a slightly prepared part (counterclockwise!) Until the part abuts against the plane on which the nut lies ...

I think it would have turned out, albeit not so smoothly and beautifully. The nut does not have empty spaces for collecting chips.

Perhaps I missed it in the videos but where did your cannon come from? I assume they were cast.

Greg. The guns were cast long ago ... I just didn’t advertise them. ;)

Hey Andrey,
I've been watching your vidoes for some time now. You are a fantastically good model maker. You build extremely precise and with ingenious tricks you make the greatest details.
I have already learned a lot from you, and I would like to thank you for allowing us to participate in your model making.

thank you for sharing these.

Apart from the obvious quality of your work, I particularly like the use of the tools. You might have a very sophisticated workshop, but I see you work with tools any modeler might have.

The skill makes the difference.

Past builds: Prins Willem,  Amati Coca

Current Build: Occre Diana
