Thanks a lot guys for looking in. I really appreciate your commits.

The following pictures show the finished center walkway.

post-247-0-57548200-1365550193_thumb.jpg

The main mast partners will fit into the opening left in the center walkway.

post-247-0-50726900-1365550194_thumb.jpg

This picture show the forward part of the center walkway and the raised fore castle. The anchor cable will run into the square holes near the center of the picture. The fore mast will fit into either of the two round holes (actually they are octagons)  on the fore castle.

post-247-0-42517100-1365550195_thumb.jpg

The next two picture show the mast partners in place but not glued nor shaped.

More plywood is covered. This area will have a canopy.

post-247-0-57646400-1365551618_thumb.jpg

The canopy is supported by two arches. The two arches at the top of the pictures are the kit supplied parts. You can see the part numbers. The two arches at the bottom of the picture are what I made from cherry.

post-247-0-42392000-1365551620_thumb.jpg

I made copies of the plans and made patterns for the arches.

post-247-0-49527800-1365551619_thumb.jpg

The kit supplied a lot of brass. The arches are covered on one side with etched brass.

post-247-0-45033700-1365551622_thumb.jpg

post-247-0-47695500-1365551623_thumb.jpg

The last three picture show the arches looking back from the fore.

Next the canopy. The kit supplied plywood and PE brass for the lower and upper section of the walls that support the canopy. I messed up the brass on the lower section. The brass on the upper section was meant to look open with vertical spindles. I used some spindles from Model Expo and took some liberty here.

You can see the plywood and the spindles.

post-247-0-64558800-1365721119_thumb.jpg

The kit supplied plywood to make a form. The slats that make the canopy top are bent over the plywood form. This form has to be remove after the canopy in finished. I made a bunch of cuts in the form to make it easier to brake apart and remove.

post-247-0-69387500-1365721120_thumb.jpg

The next few pictures show the slats being added.

I don't know why the pictures above are posted twice. I tried to remove the second set of picture, but if I delete one of the second set of pictures then the corresponding picture from the first set is also deleted.

A little backtracking and a couple of reposts.

Notice that the upper side portion of the canopy sticks out past the canopy. A platform attaches to the part that sticks out.

post-247-0-63700300-1366073726_thumb.jpg

More plywood parts I used as a pattern for the platform.

And the platform attached. A side note: I have no idea what the purpose of this platform was.

Next is to cover the bow with planks. This is the last of the plywood to be covered.

post-247-0-16330700-1366151675_thumb.jpg

I made several copies of the plan and cut out a pattern for each plank. I use kid's stick glue to attach the patterns to the wood.

This pictures show how the planks fit together. Some of the pieces still have the paper pattern attached.

The real Reale had Iron straps to help strengthen the deck. Here I used brass strips.

post-247-0-62748800-1366151509_thumb.jpg

This type of ship would ram other ships, so the deck needed these reinforcement.

Great planking Al, the brass strips are an added value to the look of the ship.

Some more photo etched brass. I painted these pieces blue and then sanded. The blue remained in the low spots.

Before building the handrails I needed to attach the Oar thole-pins (Oarlocks) and the Oar wear pads. On the real Reale de France the thole-pins wound have been a wood. I used brass rods.

That is beautiful. I like all the tiny details that really dress up the ship. Are they all part of the kit or are you bashing a little?  Either way your work is fantastic.
