Evening all,    I got round to de-masking the IX  today   - it didn't turn out too bad, the green areas are now ok,   as I want to shown a well used version with ware patches  and paint fading  - I decided to add these areas now,   the Grey also needed touching up  but first I had to mix up a shade as close to the rattle can Grey as possible   (this isn't easy as we know)   I reached a shade as close as possible,  when this has fully hardened I will buff the finish to get a satin scheen.

Hi all,   some more progress on this tonight   - not a lot of content  but time consuming,  I have been panel marking using my  adjustable  draftsmans pencil  (the type with the led you push out when the end breaks)  anyway  the system was to run the pencil then using a wet finger and a cloth clean as I go   - seems to work quite well and is a tidy way of doing it.

Evening all,  in between  working on the Seafire  I decided to have a go at decaling the Spit,   the decals are a case of  "Rob bill to pay Ben"   some have a few marks  but hopefully  they will all settle down when a top coat is  sprayed over.

I also masked and painted the Yellow wing leading edge bands  and Red  gun bands.

A group pic also  showing the difference between the Two.

Evening all,   I did a bit more on this today  - firstly  I took a few bits outside and sprayed them and  put them in my tub to dry,  next job was to attach a small bit of pe onto the cockpit door, this was then painted/highlighted  and fitted,  after  I carried on doing some decaling work  from the  tail flash  to the lower roundals  and a few smaller ones.

Evening all,   a bit more progress  - I have masked the  rear quarter and front cockpit glass  (ready for top coat - later)   then I  worked on the main u/c units, very nice jobbies by Eduard  - lots of detail  and nice construction,   the wheels are sepaerate from the hubs  and sepaerate  oleo's / covers,  after  assembling and painting  then fitting together,   I then fitted Two pe  outer covers  and painted these.

Evening all,   hows the popcorn going?     today was a milestone as she now sits on her wheels,   I also worked on the prop/spinner assembly  - it needed zero clean up  just painted then when each part was dry I put it together,  after I applied a few decals  tipped the ends  with yellow after masking, then glued it in place.

Just noticed in the pics a couple of writting decals  have come away on the props - must sort that.

Looks OC.   Unless this bird is factory fresh, I wouldn't worry about the prop decals that came off.   In real life, they didn't last long.
