Question About Adding Links to Other Topics and Posts

Recommended Posts

Sometimes when I am writing a reply I would like to add a link to another topic or post from elsewhere in the MSW forum. For example, sometimes people will people will refer to another build log in their post or say "this post may help" and then they add a link to that build log or specific post. Can someone explain the steps to take to be able to do that. Thanks very much.

Bob

Bob - you would click the chain icon to the left of the parenthesis icon, then copy the link into the URL box.  Hope that helps for a quick answer.

I believe I'm a bit dense about these things, Dave. I can't seem to find the parenthesis icon you are referring to...??

Bob, go to the post you want to reference, right mouse click on the post number in upper right corner of post, in the drop down select "copy link location"  then follow Duanelaker's instructions above.

Edit:  Bob in the reply window at the top of the window is a bar - look for the chain icon in about the middle of the bar - click on this then in that window enter the link URL you copied and whatever text you want to add then click "insert in post"

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
