Coureur by cafmodel - 1/48

Would the L130 or the B-01-130 be the most historically correct boat to have on the Le Coureur?

That is just beautiful, giving that material some patina for aging and would be able to fool me saying it's and old mark.

Tom, I got my kit in yesterdays UPS delivery. Wow! What an amazing kit that you have supplied to us. I can not believe all the parts that make up this mailing. All the additional parts that you have supplied!

Thank You for your talent in developing this kit. I hope my build will come out as nicely as you have shown us.

Tom, I see your hull shape came out very smooth, how do you ensure this when you cannot fair the frames after installing like other POF builds because of the clinker “steps” in your frames, other build methods use jigs and alignment aids but still major fairing must be done to achieve a smooth hull. Do you still fair the frames after installed but maintain the “steps”?

I am nowhere near ready to start construction of this kit yet but have been studying the instructions, plans and components from the two boxes.

The photo shows one of the many frame component sheets and you can see engraved lines on the frame components that require fairing. My assumption is that each clinker step will need to be filed to the line to achieve fairing - a lengthy but necessary process.

Hoping this answers your question ASAT.

That's my assessment too.

I believe those lines are to achieve the correct frame bevel? I am asking about frame alignment and not being able to fair them with a long sanding bar. Remove the offending frames and re position? The jig only ensure that a few frames are In alignment- eyeball the rest?
