Since I have little time, I left my SMS Seydlitz in her mothballs and picked up this little build.

Resin partsbrass PEMetal PE

The only thing I can say: "it is small!!!" and it is almost finished before you start it ;)

Resin and PE ready for painting

Base coat "Black base" with chrome - both AK extreme metal colours - enamels

Base colour is RLM 66 some details filled in with colours, and metal PE which has been prepainted - Vallejo acrylics - added a bit of wear and tear

Getting the PE, resin, and plastic fitted took the better part of an eveing, painting took in all about 1.5 - 2 hours. Quite a fun model to build despite it's size, lot's of detail on the resin parts too

Cheers

Thanks OC. Need to get my bearings back on building to get that big German b....... out of it's mothballs. I think these small and quick builds might just do the trick.

Like the others I like seeing you back again Carl and being amazed by your work.
It astounds me to see how detailed and finely finished this tiny cockpit is.

To be honest I am a little jealous as well, your skills, like a number of others here, are way out of my league.

Wow! Nice work! Detail to the max! You need to tell me how you did all that detail - ever want to do a tutorial build?  😀 I guess references are half the battle? Is that all eduard detail stuff or do you use wire, solder etc to enhance?

You give me to much credit Lou, thank you

Hello Assat, thank you for your praise. It is all Eduard. They have "Brassin" kits which you can use to enhance your - mostly -  airplane kits, and these are full of detail. A combination of resin, plastic, and PE (both metal and brass).

Have a look at their BRASSIN kits

As for tutorials, I am still learning, but this bloke does make nice tutorials PLASMO

Carl , are you building this Bf109G on the installment plan, ala the Dagostini models? ^_^ My aircraft model instructions always seem to start with the cockpit and eventually progress through the rest of the build. So, you're awaiting a DB605?  It will be a good build when it appears, Carl.

Carl, where's the fun in just a cockpit. Geewhiz, mate. We want to see more to that airplane. So, you are not expecting anymore parts to continue with this build. OK, I get it. I'm just a little too literal sometimes.

And there is no wayinell I'd ever say anyone is dumb, especially looking at the artistry displayed by the folks on this forum.

P.S. The DB605 is the Daimler Benz engine of the Me109G

So just the cockpit is a flight simulator?  Works for me.  I did a number of manuals back in the day for real simulators that weren't much more than that.  But did some with full blown graphics and hydraulics to give a sense of movement.

it will be Denis ... it just hasn't arrived yet. I want to build one with a detailup cockpit, engine, radio room (more like a box), and wheels. That should keep me busy a few days ... four seperate builds in one ... add a cloak of invisbility ... and the camo is complete too

By the way, presently working on a Spitfire IXc 1/48 engine ... should fit snuggly in OC's build ;)
