I prefer to simply have notifications show up in "the globe" button for topics that I follow, likes and quotes regarding my comments etc since I check into MSW regularly each day. I do not want to receive email notifications for any topics I follow.

When I go to "Manage My Notifications" I have selected "No notifications." But there is also a drop down menu that says "Select row based on type" that has quite a few choices.  What should I be selecting in from that drop down menu to simply have notifications show up immediately in "the globe" and not get any email notifications.

Many thanks!

I'm going to follow to see if you get an answer. Have asked the same question but never got an answer. It's feast or famine right now.  A ton of email, or no notification on the globe.

Bob, I agree...I don’t want an email but I would want a notification in my glove.  I do believe if you follow someone or a post it does end up sending a notification to your globe.  When you select follow there is an option on how you receive notifications, I turn email off.

Bob,

Go to three bar tab to the far right of the top of your screen (I’m on phone)....then select account...then manage followed content....then change preference...hopefully that helps!

First post of any topic you want to follow using a desktop (phones and pad might be different). goto the upper right side to the "Follow" box.  Click on it and you'll get choices on how you want notifications. There's a light gray (on my screen, yours may be different) that says "Change How Notifications are Sent"  You can select how you want them.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Mark, just for clarification, when I follow a topic and leave the first box checked as shown in the photo below, I assume I will get a notification on the MSW home page "globe" and will not get any email notifications unless I were to select one of the other choices. I'm good to go if this is correct.

Bob, under the first choice (the one you have tic'ed.)  The line reads "Change how notifications are sent".  Click on that line.  You'll get quite a few choices and one them is for notifications only, or words to that effect.

Thanks, Mark, clicking on that line that opens another window with a lot of choices was what I was missing. I think I've got it all sorted out now. Many thanks to all that replied here.
