Thanks everybody for kind words, likes and support.

There is a hope for me to become master builder in one of the my next life after reincarnation (unless I wake up as an animal or as a plant or tree... Just imagine ... wake up as a Mahogany, or Cherry or Oak tree, and somebody embed you in a ship model !!!!). In this life ... so much always present impatience which is obviously too hard attached to my personality ...

Talking about internally multi-conversation, I must share (with his permit) brilliant thought of Dognut, member of CS fleet

“ I talk to myself. Because I need intelligent conversation”

BTW, there inside, on chat table, can be even four, five or six of us

I, me, myself, Id, Ego and Superego (*)

Enough for chess tournament, or for a beach volley game

Too noisy inside, sometime   :P

Thinking to visit again our Dr. Per .... http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/474-therapy-for-shipaholics/#entry5142 ...  It seems that someone of us six need hard fix and his therapy ... The only question is - which one ?

Ignore the Princess as she's to young to understand.

Also Ignore Hothead ... Yesterday he ask me : "Old Man, do you really really need full week for this space 5x5cm ? Will you finish this deck ever ? I can do it for a hour "

Yes you can do it - on your ship, not on mine.

First have one

Hairy monster (Adrian, Prince of Persia) is caught somewhere fleas, take him to Vet, and as he is only a home cat that never comes out, the whole house (270 m2 including basement, attic, garage and heat-room) was ransacked, sucked, licked and sprayed with insecticide. That chaos ...

Front deck "finished" - rough works

post-4738-0-27208300-1396812136_thumb.jpg

Fore deck started. Two hours playing with makeing, mounting and shapeing new rounded molding, and with a "threshold", which also has to be  "older" than decking about 0,5 mm, same as on a front deck

post-4738-0-97277500-1396812140_thumb.jpg

post-4738-0-38978800-1396812142_thumb.jpg

And here arise question about colour of front and rear "threshold"

See next pictures

post-4738-0-60305300-1396812143.jpg

post-4738-0-12625700-1396812139_thumb.jpg

post-4738-0-89375900-1396812133.jpg

It seems that on aftdeck, "threshold" is in same colour as decking, but I think that is not so much important, because almost all of it is covered with fire bucket holder. Maybe is not, maybe it is made of teak as on front deck, but , as on front, footsteps change its colours

But, on front deck, it seems that "threshold" is same colour as rounded molding/panels ... as it is made of teack, and footsteps leave traces

My decision is to paint both "thresholds" in same colour as deck. Interesting detail for weathering, if weathering ...

I made them little wider than in scale, just to be more visible, and if I paint them in teack colour, I think that will be on some way, excessive, "screaming" contrast of this detail

Nenad,

The differences in color, to me anyway, is that in some photos, everything is wet.  Others, everything is dry.  It also appears that some items are freshly varnished, others are weathered.  In the last picture, you can see at the top of the steps, it looks like part is worn and part isn't.

Looking to new rounded molding on aft deck, it seems that I made it little wider that it have to be ?

What do you think ?

To leave it as it is, or to replace ?

Visually, above will be bucket`s line, on sides two ladders, under, two "Hem coops" (?) and mast with nail ring to the front, deck-house with boats as relatively high structure also to the front. Under, there is also rope ladder lead to the mast

If I thin that rounded molding, it will be almost invisible and almost visualy "covered" by other details. If I leave it little wider, maybe it will be nice emphasis detail ?

I think the detail will  'layer in'  quite nicely Nenad.  no reason to change it in my view.   I really don't think the chicken coops will be that tall, that's basically the only thing you would have to look at.   I believe there is a companion way there as well.......I hope you don't mind.

this is my second build of the Cutty.   don't fault me ...please ^_^    the companion way is built off of the galley and nestled between the railings.   I really like the Revell kits.

the one thing that this kit lacked,  was how the anchor chain was routed through the windlass,  and under the deck.  the kit tells you to use three pieces of chain to do this......but I did it using two.

Thank you Popey, YES I am interested, and I ll send you a PM

Scared of rigging ? YES, but there is great challenge. I think that technique of glueing upper edge of sail to yard and glue rope to the sail and to tie it somewhere you think it have to be, as I did in simply Heller kits I made, can not be called - riggin. My last and only "rigging" if it deserve that name at all, was about 35 years ago with very simplified TEHNODIDAKTA Santa Maria, without any blocks, dead eyes etc if I remember well. So, my "experience" in rigging actually do not exist. For change, I intend to try/do real rigging on CS with full set of sails spread and with every possible detail I can make. There is I think quite enough time infront of me to learn about rigging, and to study sails and rigging plans, details of masts and yards etc etc, and think MSW will be irreplaceable help

I wish I was in this stage 25 years ago ...

Today work

Ugh, I didnt put pictures on laptop

wait a little ...

( ... time is passing ...)

where we stop ... a ha ... pictures and coments

Not so much work today, only some strips made, caulked and glued nice and easy. Not too much dedicated and precise as on fore deck, almost all surface will be covered with deck house, so edges to bulwarks are important

post-4738-0-86532200-1396986029_thumb.jpg

Little correction of rounded molding ( I could not resist ...) ,

front connection

post-4738-0-30803100-1396986034_thumb.jpg

rear connection

post-4738-0-95861800-1396986035_thumb.jpg

And I must connect me to the bed, tomorrow will be a long day ...

Note 08-04-2016

At this point it is very important to think about content of aft deck which will be laid down to end of aft deck. I made mistake, and transverse plank not surface-lined with another planks, it is a bit "older"

Right on that place, construction of fire-buckets will be laid, and that "flat" surface may cause problems when time to mount bucket construction comes

This "problem" can be raised if you plan to make front entrance as on present stage of CS in Greenwich, when emtrance box comes right to the transverse plank, as on next picture

rigging is not to bad.......tedious,  but not too bad.   to read is good.......but look at some of the builds here.   most of the basic pulley assemblies can apply to the Cutty.......believe me,  she has many.   you have plenty of time for that though,  before you'll get to that point.

yea......you'll have enough height for the coops ;)   looking good........keep the progress flowing!

rigging is .......tedious ....

It not seems to me tedious on Santa Maria, but ... maybe you are right, we`ll see

Tedious is this I do now - cut veneer to 5cm sheets, paint, wait to dry, cut slices 3mm, sand and align edges two times with different sandpaper, apply caulking on edges, wait caulking to dry, and then trim and glue it on deck, and in circle several hundreds times. Ah, yes, and the nibbing, and constantly removing of glue excess, cleaning constantly paint brushes, ............. Fortunately, I see end

And then, "coopering" ... whole circle again -  measure, draw, "nail it", cut, glue, "weather or something" and also in circle, this time several thousand times

Tedious stage, but there is also joy when you after daily work look at Her, and notice that something has happened, and your wooden pet is growing and begin to look like a real model

Keep on working !

Admiral brought decision for yesterday night, that it was more important then my hobby to do endless discussion about, and to make it with several plans with many variations - how to rearrange/make/remake furniture in future home office after moving  ... And Hothead joins ( for God, this is his education as architect !!!) ... and he likes to complicate as every engineer ... and there was born urgently rearranging of attic space for archive ... and his new workdesk for his studio which must be drown in ACad and represented in 3D ... where will be installations ...

Never ended ...

She's looking good!  I could see myself walking that deck, soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the salt air!

The color looks great.  I also like that it's not all uniform.  I went for the same look.  I think it looks more natural. Looks like Cutty teak to me!

Hello Nenad, your Cutte is looking fantabulous and I expect it to be even better after you have sanded the decks, great Job.
